Alf Svensson (born 1938) is a Swedish politician and leader of the Christian Democrats in Sweden since 1973. Member of Parliament, 1985-1988 and since 1991. Between 1991 and 1994 he was Minister for Development Cooperation in the liberal-conservative Cabinet lead by Prime Minister Carl Bildt.

Alf Svensson, now in his fourth decade as leader of the Christian Democrats, has the party aiming for a change of government following the Parliamentary Election in 2006. He is firm supporter the European Union and the European Monetary Union, unlike many of his voters who are in general more sceptical to an introduction of the Euro.
