Ana María Polo (born circa 1960) is a Cuban judge who became famous among hispanic television viewers in the United States.
Polo, who lived for some time in Puerto Rico, is a divorced mother of one who was once rumored to be involved in a lesbian relationship. She is also a lawyer and she is licenced to operate in Florida. In what she has described as her most terrifying experience as a judge, she once witnessed as a man murdered his wife after Polo had just divorced the couple. Polo was not harmed by the killer.
Ana María Polo began appearing on television on February 21, 2002, on her daily Telemundo Network show Sala de Parejas, where she faces multiple, different cases of differences between couples. She is known for yelling at guests who turn disrespectful towards her, the other people in court or the law. Multiple times, fights between guests have also broken in her show. It shall be said, however, that, because she is a judge of law, all guests must obey her decisions, otherwise they risk severe law punishment.
The September 11, 2002 Sala de Parejas show was dedicated to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In that show, Polo did not see any litigating couples: She talked to members of some victims' families, and she sang a song dedicated to them towards the end of the show.
