Antonio Carlos Jobim (also Tom Jobim) (1927-1994) was a Brazilian composer, singer, pianist and was one of the legends of Bossa nova (Portuguese for 'New Beat'). It's been said that his music was more popular at times in the US than in Brazil because of the strong Jazz leanings in his music.
