Boy racer is a type of automobile that appeal to younger drivers because of the styling of it give the appearance of speed and high performance. Examples of such styling is spoilers, wide tires, flared fenders and simmilar things. Often boy racer cars are small, and it's not uncommon that they are "all show and no go". An example of a boy racer of the old generation is Ford Escort (the early rear wheel drive versions) and examples of modern boy racers are Subaru Impreza WRX, Honda Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Americans often use the somewhat derogatory term, "rice burner" to describe the same concept.
