Braşov (Kronstadt in German, Brassoi in Hungarian), a city in Romania, residence of the Braşov county. The total population of Brasov is 283,901, according to the 2002 census.

Braşov is located in the central part of the country, at about 160 Km from Bucharest and surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. It is part of the Transylvania region.
