Brentwood is the name of a neighborhood in Northeast Washington, D.C It is best known as the site of the former sorting facility of the post office for Washington, D.C., through which anthrax-contaminated mail passed in October, 2001, addressed to two members of the United States Senate.

The area also is the site of a major rapid transit rail maintenance facility of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, the principal public transit operator in metropolitan Washington, D.C.
