Ceiba is the name of a huge tree found in many New World tropical areas, particularly Central America. It can grow to 75 meters tall or more, with a straight, largely branchless trunk that culminates in a huge, spreading canopy, and "buttress" roots that can be taller than a grown man.

The Ceiba is central to Mayan mythology, in which it is said to hold up the sky. It is the national tree of Guatemala.

Ceiba is also the name of a city in northeast Puerto Rico and the home of former boxing World Junior Middleweight champion Carlos Santos.
