Cesar Romero (Cesar Julio Romero, Jr) (February 15, 1907 - January 1, 1994) was an American actor. He was born in New York from Cuban parents and played "Latin lovers" in films from the 1930s until the 1950s. Later he played The Joker in the Batman television series.

His grandfather was Cuban politician José Martí and he was a believer in liberation theology.
