Chasing Amy is a 1997 romantic comedy film about two comic book artists: one a heterosexual man, the other a lesbian woman. Written and directed by Kevin Smith, it chronicles how they fall in love and how their relationship ends.

The male lead is played by Ben Affleck; the female is played by Joey Lauren Adams. Both have appeared in other Kevin Smith movies. Affleck's character is Holden McNeil; Holden's best friend and partner in comics is Banky Edwards, played by Jason Lee, who has also appeared in other Kevin Smith movies. The movie is notorious for having brought the sexual technique of fisting into the public consciousness.
