Atlético Mineiro is a Brazilian football team from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, founded on March 25, 1908. The first official match was played on March 21, 1909, against Sport Club Futebol, which Atlético won. Sport then asked for a rematch in which they were again defeated.

They share the Mineirão stadium (capacity 72,000) with Cruzeiro. The team plays in black and white vertical striped shirts, black shorts and white socks.
