Coal Miner's Daughter is a 1980 autobiographical film which tells the story of country music performer Loretta Lynn. It stars Sissy Spacek, Tommy Lee Jones and Levon Helm.

The movie was adapted from Lynn's autobiography by Thomas Rickman. It was directed by Michael Apted.

It won the Academy Award for Best Actress (Sissy Spacek), and was nominated for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Picture, Best Sound and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.

Sissy Spacek did her own singing in this film.
