Cocacolonization or coca-colonization is a term for globalization, often used pejoratively to liken globalization to Westernization or Americanization. Although it is sometimes used more benignly, often the term implies that globalization is either:
- a concept lacking depth and merely about the importation of Western or American goods, or
- a dangerous invasion of Western or American cultural values
