Cyan Worlds, Inc. (formerly Cyan, Inc.) is a computer game company which makes games for the Apple Macintosh and for Microsoft Windows. The games they have released are, in chronological order, Manhole, Cosmic Osmo (with a sequel later on), Spelunx, Myst, Riven, Myst III: Exile (actually developed by Presto Studios under license) and Myst's real-time 3d remake realMYST. Latest out is Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, formerly known under the codenames "DIRT" (D'ni in real time), "Mudpie", "Parable" and the working title "Myst Online." With the exception of Manhole, Cosmic Osmo and Spelunx, the games stem from the idea that a race called the D'ni can write books that can be used to link to worlds in another dimension. These worlds are called "ages". Cyan's games are known for concentrating on detailed plot, graphics, and exploration and try not to exclude very young or old, or otherwise impaired players. Related to the storyline of the D'ni are also the three Myst novels Book of Ti'ana, Book of Atrus and Book of D'ni.
