Dania Beach is a city located in Broward County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 20,061.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.3 km² (6.3 mi²). 15.8 km² (6.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.49% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 20,061 people, 9,012 households, and 4,866 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,271.9/km² (3,294.2/mi²). There are 10,847 housing units at an average density of 687.7/km² (1,781.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 70.14% White, 23.74% African American, 0.30% Native American, 1.39% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 2.27% from other races, and 2.14% from two or more races. 12.01% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 9,012 households out of which 21.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 34.9% are married couples living together, 14.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 46.0% are non-families. 35.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
