Chechik and the American title of a 1955 French film (Les Diaboliques) (U.K. title = The Fiends) based on the novel Celle qui n'était plus by Pierre Boileau. Variously described as a "mystery" a "thriller" and even a "horror film," the 1955 classic, starring Simone Signoret, created something of a sensation. The story is about a romantic triangle that turns deadly when a man's wife and mistress conspire to murder him, but then the body disappears, and things get very weird.
