Diabolique is a 1996 American film directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik and the American title of a 1955 French film (Les Diaboliques) (U.K. title = The Fiends) based on the novel Celle qui n'était plus by Pierre Boileau.

Variously described as a "mystery" a "thriller" and even a "horror film," the 1955 classic, starring Simone Signoret, created something of a sensation. The story is about a romantic triangle that turns deadly when a man's wife and mistress conspire to murder him, but then the body disappears, and things get very weird. It has often been likened to the films of Alfred Hitchcock in that it is still creepy even when you have seen it before and know how it comes out.
