A Dorje or dorji is a ritual object traditionally held in the right hand of a Tibetan Lama during religious ceremonies. It is also a common male Tibetan name.

Literally, dorje means prince of stones, or diamond (also indestructable), but symbolically the term represents the 'thunderbolt of enlightenment,' the sudden change in human consciousness recognised by mystics, such as what was said to happen to the Buddha, Saul of Tarsus, or Mohammed.
