Dover is a town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,798.

census of 2000, there are 2,798 people, 751 households, and 615 families residing in the town. The population density is 413.9/km² (1,070.7/mi²). There are 842 housing units at an average density of 124.6/km² (322.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 74.12% White, 0.43% African American, 1.04% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.25% Pacific Islander, 19.12% from other races, and 4.43% from two or more races. 50.86% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 751 households out of which 45.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.1% are non-families. 10.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.69 and the average family size is 3.89. In the town the population is spread out with 33.0% under the age of 18, 13.0% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 17.0% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who are 65 years of age or older.
