On November 22, 2003, Sjodin finished her shift at Victoria's Secret located in Columbia Mall in Grand Folks and apparetly went shopping in the mall. About this time or shortly after she spoke with her boyfriend via her cellular phone and Dru abruptly ended the conversation by saying something to the effect of "Oh no!" or "Oh my God!" About three hours later her boyfriend received a short call from the same cellular phone but all he heard was static and the sound of buttons pressed. It has been determined that this second phone call originated somewhere near Fisher, Minnesota.
