Eastpointe is a city located in Macomb County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 34,077.
There are 13,595 households out of which 30.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.6% are married couples living together, 12.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.1% are non-families. 28.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 3.11.
In the city the population is spread out with 24.5% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who are 65 years of age or older. Originally incorporated as the village of Halfway in 1924, it was rechartered as a city in 1929 under the name East Detroit. The city changed its name to Eastpointe after a vote in 1992.Entertainment/Recreation
