Erika Steinbach (born July 25, 1943, Rumia, Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia) is a German politician (CDU). She is a member of the Bundestag (since 1990) and president of the Bund der Vertriebenen (since 1998), though she is not an expellee herself, being the daughter of a Luftwaffe officer who was only stationed in Poland during the war.

Her strategic aim is to build monumental center against force migration in Berlin, devoted to the faith of Germans after the war, that is aimed to balance Holocaust Museum. Many people, mainly Poles and Czechs are afraid, that building museums devoted to Jewish and German victims of war, will turn attention from the Slavic victims of Nazi genocide. The fact that she was born in soldier family on the occupied Polish soil, makes her, in eyes of Poles, the last person to influence the complicated Polish-German relationships.
