The racial makeup of the city is 71.00% White, 1.09% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 24.43% from other races, and 2.93% from two or more races. 39.62% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 942 households out of which 38.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% are married couples living together, 9.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% are non-families. 22.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.20.
