Exposure can be:
- A condition of poor health or death resulting from prolonged exposure to weather
- Radiation poisoning
- Exposure of the skin to sunshine, etc.
- Exposure of unwanted infants in classical Mediterranean cultures and others, a common origin for mythic heroes: Perseus, Moses, Romulus and Remus. Compare Sex-selective infanticide.
- A term used in photography: see Exposure (photography).
- Publicity (e.g. of an artist)
- Exposure of (parts of) the body, especially the bare skin, to the view of others; if that goes too far it is called indecent exposure; the exposure may be limited out of modesty.
- In climbing, exposure is the state of openness with relation to the distance of a fall. See the climbing glossary.
