Fina Air is the name of a new Puerto Rican airline. It plans to concentrate on international flights across the Caribbean from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan and Eugenio Maria de Hostos Airport in Mayaguez.

Fina Airs management announced, on the June 7 edition of the El Vocero newspaper, that the airline would fly from July 15 of 2003, connecting San Juan and Mayaguez with 6 Dominican Republic destinations. According to management, the airline plans to expand to other countries within the Caribbean by 2005 and acquire jets. The airline has a fleet of SAAB 340 airplanes. The July 15 date, however, was later changed to October the second.

One curious fact is that, because Puerto Rico is still politically speaking a part of the United States, Fina Air (not to be confused with cargo airline Fine Air), will have the American flag imprinted on their planes' fuselages. However, it will carry the colors of the Puerto Rican flag throught the fuselages and the tails.
