Ford Ka is a car from Ford. The car was introduced on September 11 1996 after Ford's domination of the European small and low cost car markets in the eighties with the Fiesta and Escort, a successful new model was required. The Ka is also based on the same platform as the Fiesta, but with a radicly different design. The car was originally powered by a 1300 cc Endura-E engine, a design dating back to the 1960s Kent engine used in for instance Ford Anglia, but in 2002 it was replaced by the Duratec engine based on the same block.

The KA as first sold in 1994, and provoked mixed opinions with its original and striking design. The car sold well, and two more editions, the KA2, and KA3 were later released.
