Fred Harold Hale Sr. (born December 1, 1890) has been the oldest documented man in the United States since the death of John Ingram McMorran in February 2003.

A native of Maine, Mr. Hale married in 1910, the year the first of his children was born. Recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest licensed driver at age 107, only at age 109 did he move to Liverpool, New York to be near his youngest son. At age 113 he still plays cards, and after cataract operations at ages 109 and 110 he has vision unusually good for a supercentenarian.
