Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index Frederick William Vanderbilt (February 2,1856-February 2,1938) was the third son of William Henry Vanderbilt, and both the last survivor of the four and the only one to leave a greater estate than he inherited from his father. He had no children. He was a director of the New York Central Railroad for 61 years. He lived for a while at 450 Fifth Avenue (at 40th Street) in New York, the home his father had vacated for 640 Fifth Avenue in the early 1880s. His 600-acre country home in Hyde Park, New York was called simply Hyde Park,and is now a museum. This article is from Wikipedia.
