Frozen yoghurt is a frozen dessert made from or containing yoghurt or dairy analogues. Typically frozen yoghurt will contain low or no-fat yoghurt, sweetener, gelatin, corn syrup, and flavoring. Frozen yoghurt is typically made in an ice cream machine. Frozen yoghurt both freezes and melts much more slowly than ice cream since yoghurt has a much higher freezing and melting point than milk.

Frozen yoghurt is flavored typically in the same flavors as ice cream, but since it is made with low-fat or fat-free yoghurt instead of cream or milk it has a much lower fat content. Sugar free versions of frozen yoghurt can be easily purchased. Natural "Sugar Free" frozen yoghurt is often flavored with fructose instead of regular sugar.

Although frozen yoghurt has been made for many years, it did not catch on until the 1990s.

Frozen yoghurt is served as a low-fat or fat-free alternative to ice cream.
