Gavin Wanganeen is a champion defender from Port Adelaide Power. Began his career at the Bombers and in only his second season of senior football, played in a winning grand final along side such champions as Tim Watson, Paul Salmon, Michael Long and Mark Harvey. Won the Charles Brownlow medal the same year (1993) also for his consistancy that has carried on through the years.

Maintained his status through the next three years and in 1996 almost got the Bombers into a premlimanry final at the gabba against the Bears. Unfortunatley for him, a freak shot at goal hit the post and the side lost by one point.

The next season he would go on to captain the newly created Port Adelaide Power side coached by South Australian legend John Cahill. The side didn't have great success in their first few years in the competition and it is only now that they have begun to play finals.

Gavin captained the side from 1997 to 1999. He has been all Australian 5 times and winner of the club best and fairest 3 times.
