Glenville is a town located in Schenectady County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 28,183.

census of 2000, there are 28,183 people, 11,150 households, and 7,827 families residing in the town. The population density is 218.2/km² (565.0/mi²). There are 11,582 housing units at an average density of 89.7/km² (232.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.35% White, 0.72% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.89% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. 1.20% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 11,150 households out of which 30.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.0% are married couples living together, 8.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.8% are non-families. 26.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 2.95.
