He lacks intelligence and uses his size to scare off any one who threatens his beloved leader Malfoy. Goyle's father is a Death Eater who is loyal to Lord Voldemort. Goyle hates Harry Potter and Harry's friends, just as much as Malfoy does, but probably only because Malfoy told him to.
