Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index Hamilcar was a traditional name among the ruling families of Carthage. A Hamilcar led the Carthaginian forces at the Battle of Himera in 480 BC. Another Hamilcar, grandson to Hanno the Great, led a campaign against Syracuse between 311 BC and 307 BC, before being captured and killed.
