Hénin-Beaumont is a chief town of canton of north of France, in départment of Pas-de-Calais (zone 62), district of Lens. It belongs to agglomeration of Hénin-Carvin which gathers 14 communes, is 125,000 inhabitants.

The commune results from the merger of Hénin-Liétard and Beaumont in 1971.

Population (1999): 25,610 inhabitants (héninois) for the city and 20,571 for the canton.
