Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index HMAS Murchison (K-442/F-442), named for the Murchison River in Western Australia which rises in the Robinson Range and flows into the Indian Ocean at Gantheaume Bay, was a Bay class frigate laid down by Evans Deakin and Company Limited at Brisbane in Queensland, launched on 31 October 1944 and commissioned on 17 December 1945.
