HMAS Quiberon (G-81/F-03) was a Quilliam class frigate laid down by J. Samuel White and Company Limited of Cowes on the Isle of Wight in England on 14 October 1940, launched on 31 January 1942 by Mrs. Tillard, wife of Rear Admiral S. D. Tillard, Flag Officer in Charge, Southampton, commissioned into the Royal Navy on 6 July 1942, transferred to Australia and paid off on 15 May 1950, underwent conversion to a modern anti-submarine frigate at Cockatoo Island Dockyard in Sydney and recommissioned on 18 December 1957.

Quiberon served in the Far East with the Commonwealth Strategic Reserve and as a unit of the Australian Fleet on the Australia Station. HMAS Quiberon paid off to reserve on 26 June 1964, was sold for scrap to the Fujita Salvage Company Limited of Osaka in Japan on 15 February 1972 and left Sydney under tow on 10 April 1972.
