Hogsmeade, Scotland, UK is a fictional settlement, that appears in the Harry Potter novels. Hogsmeade is the only pure wizarding settlement in the United Kingdom and is located south of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Third year students and older are permitted to visit the village, as long as they have a signed permission slip from their parent or guardian. Hogsmeade hasn't yet appeared in the films, unless one counts the short sequence where the train arrives at the Hogsmeade station in the first movie.

The Post Office

This place is filled with owls which are color-coded based on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination.

The Shrieking Shack

This house is supposed to be the most severely haunted building in Britain. The Hogwarts ghosts avoid this place. Fred and George Weasley tried to get in of cource, but failed.

This house was built when a werewolf named Remus Lupin arrived at the school. A tunnel was built leading to the house, and the whomping willow was planted over the entrance. Lupin was brought here when he became a werewolf, so that he wouldn't be a danger to people. As he was removed from humans to bite, he bit and scratched himself. Villagers who heard the noise thought they were hearing very violent spirits. Albus Dumbledore encouraged this rumor. Even though the house has been silent for years, the villagers don't dare approach it. Needless to say, the place isn't really haunted.
