Pei's Place Ville-Marie in Montreal Ieoh Ming Pei (貝聿銘 pinyin Bèi Yùmíng) is a Chinese American architect born in Guangzhou, China on April 26, 1917. Pei, the last "master" of high modernist architecture, has been described as an architect who focuses on abstract form. He prefers materials such as stone, concrete, glass, and steel.
