Its Statute says in part: "The International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) is the international federation governing all aspects of Dancesport worlwide, either directly through its own organs, or through its national member bodies, or by administrative agreements with other persons and organisations....The IDSF controls all international DanceSport competitions and the granting of DanceSport competitions, which are subject to IDSF rules."
