Interstella 5555 - The 5tory of the 5ecret 5olar 5ystem is a Japanese animated film from the year 2003.

The film is the visual realization of Discovery, an album of the French House band Daft Punk. It tells in different episodes the story of the abduction of an interstellar pop band. Interstella 5555 follows the concept as it was used already in 2001 for the first four singles from the album: each video starts where the previous one interrupted the story. Without dialogues all songs of the album played in a role are telling a colourful space adventure.

The pictures were drawn by the Japanese production studio Toei Animation. Graphical supervisor was Leiji Matsumoto, who also created the TV series Captain Future.
