Since 1948 several hundred members of the Israeli military have been declared MIA. Out of these six are still believed to be alive in captivity.

The following are the MIAs stilled believed to be alive.

The first three individuals were declared missing after the battle of Sultan Yakoub in Lebanon in 1982.

Zachary Baumel, Tzvi Feldman, and Yehuda Katz were tank crewmembers.

Ron Arad was a F-4 navigator lost over Lebanon in 1986.

Guy Hever was an IDF conscript, who disappeared on duty in the Golan Heights, in 1997

Elchanan Tenenbaum was an IDF colonel (res) abducted after being lured either to Europe or UAE under false pretenses in 2000.
