Jimmy H. Davis (1899 - 2000) was a politician and singer from Louisiana. He was a member of the United States Democratic Party. Often called "the singing governor", he performed several successful songs, most notably You Are My Sunshine. He was governor from 1944 until 1948 and from 1960 and 1964. He continued to enforce policies of racial segregation, but later in life he apologized.
