John D. Rockefeller 3rd (March 21, 1906 - July 10, 1978) was an industrialist, philathropist, and member of the prominent Rockefeller family. He was the eldest son of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. His was brother of Nelson A. Rockefeller, Laurance Rockefeller, David Rockefeller, and Winthrop Rockefeller. He was the father of Jay Rockefeller.
He was killed in an automobile accident in 1978.
