Joseph "Sepp" Deitrich was a German Waffen-SS military officer during World War II, mainly commanding tanks. He commanded the 1st SS Division (LAH, Hitler's Bodyguard) during most of the war, and moved to the 6th Panzer Army, which he commanded during the Battle of the Bulge. He was one of Adolf Hitler's closest generals, and was given the rank of field marshal during much of the war.
