Julia May Carson (born July 8 1938), American politician, has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1997, representing the 7th District of Indiana. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, was educated at Martin University in Indianapolis and Indiana University-Purdue University, and was an office-bearer in the United Auto Workers, a staff assistant to Representative Andrew Jacobs, Jr, and a member of the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana Senate before entering the House. She is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
