Konrad Kujau was born in Löbau, Saxony on June 27, 1938. He was most noted for being was a well-known forger, who faked artwork, and a later made a name for himself when forged 60 volumes of Hitler's supposed diary. He later sold this to the German magazine Stern in 1983. He was convicted of fraud in 1985, and served three years in prison. He died in Stuttgart, Germany on September 12, 2000.
