Lake George is a village located in Warren County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 985.

census of 2000, there are 985 people, 448 households, and 237 families residing in the village. The population density is 623.5/km² (1,615.3/mi²). There are 579 housing units at an average density of 366.5 persons/km² (949.5 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.36% White, 1.02% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 0.61% from two or more races. 0.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 448 households out of which 26.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.5% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 46.9% are non-families. 36.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.19 and the average family size is 2.90. In the village the population is spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.2 males.
