Lancaster is a town located in Coos County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,280.

The racial makeup of the town is 98.08% White, 0.06% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 1.13% from two or more races. 0.64% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,286 households out of which 32.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.8% are married couples living together, 10.5% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 32.6% are non-families. 27.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.94.
