Legio XIV Gemina Martia Victrix was a legion of the Roman Empire created by Octavian. The name gemina (twin in latin) suggests that the legion resulted from fusion of two previous ones; martia victrix (martial victory) were cognomens added by Nero following the victory over Boudicca. It was one of four legions used by Aulus Plautius in the invasion of Britain by Rome in 43. In 68 it was stationed in Galia Narbonensis.
