Lil Mo is an R&B singer who originally was signed to Irv Gotti's Murda Inc record label. She emerged sometime around year 2000, when she was featured with Nas and Eve on a remix of Missy Elliott's hit single, "Hot Boyz". The music video for "Hot Boyz" is actually the remix and is probably Mo's first music video appearnce. In early 2001, Ja Rule released his single, "Put It On Me," which featured his labelmates, Mo and Vita. The song was an enormous hit at rap radio and would evenutally cross over and become big at pop radio too.

Later that year, Mo had a successful single of her own, "Superwoman" (Part II), which was a more uptempo version of the original song, and featured a rap by then-unknown rapper Fabolous. The video was a huge hit on MTV2 and BET.

After a falling out with Ja Rule and Irv Gotti, caused by Mo's accusations that the two were focusing more on rising star Ashanti than on her, Mo left Murda Inc in 2002.

Most recently, Mo has appeared on singles with Fabolous, who partially has Mo to thank for his own breaking big. In early 2003, Fabolous and Mo each had a minor urban hit which featured the other.
