Little Global Ring Network for Advanced Application Development (Little GLORIAD) is a high-speed computer network, with bandwidth up to 155 Mbps (National Science Foundation, 2003), designed to connect the computers of scientists in Russia and China to those in the United States and Amsterdam. For this network, a direct computer link was drawn between Russia and China for the first time in history. As of 2003, it was planned to become operational in January 2004 (Paul, 2003).
