Louise Marie Adelaide Eugènie d'Orléans, or Madame Adelaide, was the sister of King Louis-Philippe of France. She moved to the United States.

She married George Casper von Schroeppel, a Prussian-born tea merchant who was a naturalized American citizen and lived in New York City; they had four children, including a daughter, Marie Eugenie von Schroeppel, who married John Hinman, Mayor of Utica, New York.
